Pre-K Counts is a statewide initiative to provide a high-quality preschool free of charge for children of qualifying families. Through the program, which began in the 2007-2008 school year, the Pennsylvania Department of Education awarded a grant to the Barber National Institute to provide full-day pre-kindergarten classes for fifteen children in the City of Erie and fourteen youngsters in Corry, PA.

The program offers full-day preschool for three-and four-year-olds in classrooms located on the Institute’s main campus at 136 East Avenue in Erie, and at our county location at 151 Maple Avenue in Corry. There is no tuition for eligible children enrolled; supplies and lunch are included.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis; for information, call Kathy Bastow at (814) 480-6800 or click here to email her.
