Chorus Entertains at Mayoral Inauguration

The Children's Chorus of the Elizabeth Lee Black School performed before a large crowd of dignitaries and elected officials during inauguration ceremonies for Erie Mayor Joseph E. Sinnott. The ceremonies were held Jan. 4 at Erie City Council Chambers.

The Children's Chorus was established more than four years ago under the direction of Julie Moore, a teacher at the Barber National Institute and a well-known Erie musician and vocalist. The group includes “typically developing” youngsters in the Happy Hearts Preschool, as well as students with developmental delays or physical challenges from preschool through elementary school age.

The Chorus regularly performs at events at the Barber National Institute and in the community.
