Barber National Institute Celebrates

RECORD-SETTING YEAR

Thanks to our friends in the community

With the support of our friends in the Erie region, the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber Foundation celebrated its most successful fundraising year in history. In 2008-09, we received a record number of donations totaling $3,049,524 from 2,258 donors. This amount reflects gifts from many new donors who, for the first time, supported our mission.

Earlier this year the Barber Foundation established an ambitious four-year goal of raising $6 million in philanthropic support by 2012. Thanks to our generous donors, we are off to a great start and are more than half-way toward our goal.

We have achieved this milestone amid challenging economic times, and are especially grateful to our donors who have invested in our mission. As state and federal budgets tighten, philanthropic support becomes paramount for the Barber National Institute to continue to provide world-class services for individuals with disabilities.
